This appellation is planted exclusively with the white grape variety, Chardonnay, on steep slopes of around 20%. Marly soils rich in clay alternate with limestone beds and marls. The Corton Charlemagne is a powerful wine, very long in the mouth with honeyed, lemony aromas.

Domaine Chapuis is based on 170 years of family tradition at the foot of the Corton hill in Burgundy.
Claire and her brother Pierre represent the 6th generation. They combine tradition and modernity in the search for the expression of the 8 appellations of the domain spread over 11 hectares.
Located between 280 and 330 meters above sea level, Corton-Charlemagne faces south, which is rare on the coast. The hill of Corton is shared between the villages of Aloxe-Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses and Ladoix-Serrigny. This vine was donated by the Emperor Charlemagne in 775 to the Saint-Andoche de Saulieu collegiate church. Our plots: Les Languettes, Les Pougets and Le Charlemagne are located in the commune of Aloxe-Corton and benefit from an optimal South/South-East exposure which is so important for the quality of the Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru
