Giant, fresh pineapple and papaya fruit and wonderfully mouth-filling creaminess, backed up by unusually mineral acidity for this grape. And the ample fine tannins underline this beautifully. Super-long and refined finish with hints of hibiscus and guava. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold. 

Vinous (94/100):
From a stony, south-east-facing parcel at the top of the slope, the 2020 Gewurztraminer Steingrubler Grand Cru has both power and elegance. The nose is restrained, showing pear and peach in equal measure. The palate comes in with gentle sweetness, real density and bundled fruit reminiscent of Mirabelle and peach compote, cut with lemon freshness. There is delicious peppery verve on the medium sweet finish. (Fermentation stopped at 33g/L.) (Medium)

Wine Advocate (91/100):
The 2020 Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Steingrubler is still reductive and closed on the flinty but also clear, refined and elegant nose. Rich and sweet but also savory on the palate, the 2020 is still shut down by sulfur (12 milligrams per liter of free SO2) and will be reviewed later again more precisely. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork.
