In 2000, Nadine and Franck Renouard went to meet the painter Pierre-Marie Brisson in Petite Camargue. Passionate about wine and contemporary art, they fell in love with this region and almost by chance found a place with unsuspected potential...

Luck now gives way to mastery. Their scientific analysis of the site reveals a terroir similar to Châteauneuf du Pape, in the climate of the south of the Rhône Valley. They know they have a gem in the rough.

With the help of an oenologist, Stéphane Beuret, they transformed the few hectares of vines into an ambitious and avant-garde enterprise: the Scamandre estate. In 2003, a great wine was born from their stubbornness. The “Cartesian Madness” of the Renouard couple has become reality, its name: Scamander.

The talent of the estate's creators is part of a Cartesian approach that rethinks the work of grapes. As the Scamandre label suggests, the fruit is expertly sculpted to offer a modern work at the forefront of the Rhône valley. This constant search for innovation and perfection is accompanied by a strong ecological conscience. The entire infrastructure is designed around organic farming, from the modern architecture blending into the landscape to the private wastewater treatment plant which returns perfectly clean water to nature.

The property is a pilot in the practice of agroforestry, more than 2000 trees have already been planted to improve biodiversity, with a target of 3500 trees in total by 2025
