THE VINES: The terroir of La Barre is the cradle of these exceptional vintages. Located halfway up the hillside, facing the rising sun, it is composed mainly of vines planted before 1930 by our grandparents and great-grandparents. This hillside benefits in certain years from climatic conditions favoring overripeness (i.e. late September, morning mists and sunshine the rest of the day). We then obtain "levroûtés" grapes (i.e. coppery, amber reflections, typical of healthy overripeness, the color of the leveret's coat, etc.).
AGING: This vintage is aged slowly in stainless steel vats for two years before bottling.
